The company’s mission is to develop ultrastable enzymes for various commercial applications. Its primary focus is presently on development of enzymes for use as biocatalysts in the bulk and fine chemical industries. It also has a potential interest in enzyme development in: the food industry; diagnostics (including biosensors); and molecular biology.
The ultrastable nature of the company’s enzyme products is due to their isolation from microbes which live in extreme environments and produce suitably adapted enzymes. The finished enzyme products will be produced as recombinant proteins in more hospitable microorganisms to ensure commercially feasible production.
The company intends to incorporate the ability to custom tailor the function of its enzyme products to specific applications in the near future.
