   About Us

The modern building industry uses a variety of chemical additives/admixtures to concrete, to reach its desirable qualities. The most usable additives are water reducing agents, allowing the high plasticity of concrete at reduced water content, saving cement and production time and expenses. The water-reducing admixtures are known commercially as conventional (5 to 8 percent), mid range (8 to 12 percent) and high range (12 to 20 and more percent) water reducers.

The conventional and mid-range water reducers (plasticizers), which are typically formulated on base of lignosulfonates, are the most usable in the concrete practice because of their low price and relatively low dosage. The high-range water reducer (superplasticizers), which are usually based on naphtalene or melamine formaldehydes, save much more cement, however they are more expensive and also need higher dosage.

Basing the original results of research of Dr. E. Pinous, Empac ltd. is developing a new version of water-reducing admixtures, which being formulated on base of traditional lignosulfonates, will allow to achieve the water-reducing effect of superplasticizers. The development will bring significant value to construction process, allowing constructors to use a new Empac superplasticizer instead of plasticizers, thanks to its low price.

The additional important advantage of the Empac additives is their polyfunctionality. The additional functions may be retardation or acceleration of setting time of the concrete, high corrosion resistance, especially in seawater, prevention of water separation, etc.
